Blues Fast Track: February/March 2017

Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 6:30 PM - Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 11:00 PM (LMT) More Information →

What is taught?
This is a special 4-week course aimed at learning and mastering some of the fundamentals of Blues dancing. The Fast Track is suitable for all levels of dancers, whether complete beginners or experienced dancers looking to work on their core techniques. We will work on essential Blues topics such as posture, connection, pulse and lag. The classes are designed to give every student individual feedback.

Do I need to register?
Classes must be booked in advance and there’s limited space. We encourage you to sign up as a Switch, which means you will be learning both roles in class (leading & following). This will enable you to dance with everyone, regardless of your partner's role. Think of all the amazing dances to be had! :)

But of course there is no pressure. If you prefer to only lead or only follow in class, please select accordingly in the booking form.

Why sign up for a fast track course?
The class ethos is the same as all OLH classes, but the method employed is a much more intense burst of teaching.

The benefits of a Fast Track course to you are:

  • small classes with limited numbers
  • a set curriculum that will make sure you learn the essential material
  • personal, honest feedback to boost your dancing abilities
  • FREE entrance to the Swing Fix social dance following the classes
  • central Oxford location.

Who are your teachers?
Isabelle Mugai & Al Marshall will guide you through 4 weeks of Blues awesomeness!

Where does the magic happen?
The lessons are held upstairs at the Jericho Tavern on Walton Street, Oxford. Classes will run four Tuesdays in a row at 6:30pm. Please be there by 6:20pm to have enough time to change shoes & get something to drink.

If you have any questions or issues with the booking process, or want to go on a waiting list then please email Oxford Lindy Hoppers.

See you on the dance floor! :-)
